Établie en 1999 dans la région de Martinborough en Nouvelle-Zélande, la cave Escarpment est célèbre pour la grande qualité de ses vins Pinot Noir, et en particulier pour son vin phare Kupe, largement considéré comme une référence pour ce cépage en Nouvelle-Zélande. L'entreprise produit aussi du Chardonnay, du Pinot Bianco, du Pinot Grigio et du Riesling. Les vignobles s'étendent sur 24 hectares à l'est du village de Martinborough sur des sols graveleux typiques de la Martinborough Terrace, un plateau de gravier alluvial.
