The Roger family comes from a long lineage of winemakers from the French village of Bué. After taking over the four hectares of vineyards bequeathed by his parents in the early 1970s, Jean-Max Roger developed the estate to give it its current contours with vines in the appellations of Sancerre, Menetou Salon, and Pouilly Fumé. Since 2004, two of his three sons, Etienne and Thibault, have returned to the company after various professional experiences in France and abroad. The third son, Xavier, on the other hand, produces wine in the southern region of Languedoc-Roussillon.
Jean-Max Roger's Pouilly-Fume Les Alouettes is a fine wine produced with Sauvignon Blanc grapes selected from different vineyards and soils. This diversity of terroirs gives the wine all its typicality and its complexity.
The wine has a brilliant straw-yellow color. It is a fragrant and expressive cuvée that reveals delicious notes of white fruit and fresh flowers, combined with vegetal and mineral scents. In the mouth, the wine has an excellent concentration of fruit. It is fresh and well-balanced with a marked minerality that makes it perfect in combination with seafood and shellfish. Also, try the classic match with fresh goat cheese.
A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!
