A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Un anniversaire inoubliable avec DAOU & Colomé La célébration de l'anniversaire de ma mère a été rendue encore plus spéciale grâce à deux vins incroyables - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 et Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. La star de la soirée était sans aucun doute le DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Dès la première gorgée, il nous a enveloppés de son étreinte riche et veloutée. Les profondes saveurs de fruits noirs, les notes de cacao et le chêne parfaitement équilibré ont fait de chaque verre un véritable plaisir. C'était un vin à la fois audacieux et élégant, qui a apporté sans effort chaleur et joie à notre réunion. Voir ma mère savourer chaque gorgée avec le sourire n'en a été que plus mémorable. Le Colomé Auténtico Malbec s'est lui aussi révélé magnifique, avec sa pure expression de Malbec de haute altitude. Il était puissant, avec des mûres mûres, des épices et une finale douce et persistante - un excellent complément à la soirée. Ces vins n'ont pas seulement rehaussé notre repas ; ils ont fait partie de la fête, rehaussant chaque toast et chaque conversation. Nous remercions chaleureusement DAOU et Colomé d'avoir fait de cette occasion spéciale un moment inoubliable !

    Fondé au XIVe siècle par Pierre de Lhomme qui y planta les premières vignes en 1552, le Château Giscours est l'un des plus importants domaines de l'appellation Margaux, située dans le Haut-Médoc au nord de la ville de Bordeaux. Après une période de difficultés financières et de succession familiale, le domaine a été repris en 1995 par Eric Albada-Jelgersma, un homme d'affaires néerlandais. Aujourd'hui, le vignoble couvre 80 hectares plantés principalement de cabernet sauvignon et les vignes bénéficient de conditions particulièrement favorables en termes d'exposition et de drainage et d'un sol graveleux sur un socle de sable et de gravier.

    Ce vin élégant du Haut-Médoc est un assemblage bordelais avec une majorité de cabernet sauvignon. Les vendanges sont manuelles et la fermentation a lieu dans des cuves en ciment thermorégulées. Le vin fini est élevé pendant un an en barriques de chêne français.

    Le Château Giscours présente une robe rouge profond aux reflets pourpres et un profil aromatique intense avec des notes de fruits rouges et de légères nuances boisées. En bouche, il présente un bon corps et des tanins fermes mais bien intégrés. Il présente une bonne concentration de fruits et une acidité bien équilibrée. La finale est longue et persistante. C'est un vin qui accompagne très bien les viandes rouges et qui peut rester en cave pendant plusieurs années et évoluer magnifiquement.
