A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Duckhorn est l'aboutissement de quarante ans de vinification et de direction par Dan et Margaret Duckhorn qui sont tombés amoureux de la Napa Valley, puis du Merlot, et ont étudié les techniques de vinification en France et au-delà. Leur premier lancement a eu lieu en 1978. TSG Consumer Partners a pris la propriété de l'entreprise en 2016, mais les Duckhorn sont encore très impliqués aujourd'hui.

    Ce millésime marque les dix ans de The Discussion, un vin qui vise à souligner la diversité expressive de la Napa Valley exposée à travers le programme de vignobles de propriété de Duckhorn. Restant fidèle à l'attachement de la marque au cabernet sauvignon et au merlot, cet assemblage est composé de 55 % et 43 % de chacun, respectivement, et comporte 1 % de cabernet franc et de petit verdot.

    La saison de croissance quasi parfaite livre un vin juteux au nez - cerise noire et myrtille sauvage - et encore vif en bouche. Des accents savoureux de chocolat doux-amer et de cardamome suivent avec des notes d'épices dues aux 18 mois en chêne français neuf. Doté d'une bonne structure, The Discussion est à la fois intense et gracieux.
